history of Intercessory Prayer Ministry
To carry out the calling of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Prayer Community as a community of praying believers, the Board of Servant Leaders, under the leadership of Tito Orly and Tita Jessica Delos Santos as Head Servant, established on September 18, 1995 by virtue of Resolution No. 037-95, an Intercessory Prayer Team (IPT) in each prayer group. These IPTs served as the seeds from which grew and blossomed the Intercessory Prayer Ministry (IPM).
The IPT was placed under the direction of Pastoral
Team 3 of the Pastoral Team and coordinated on the community level by
Tito Noel and Tita Beny Allarde.
The team was assigned to hear Mass, pray the Rosary, visit the
Blessed Sacrament and do sacrifices for the various activities of the
Community as well as for members who need prayers and for their
intentions.
Two (2) years later, on February 10, 1997 during
the election of officers of the Board of Servant Leaders and selection
of Ministry Heads, Tito Naning Alinea proposed the creation of the
Intercessory Prayer Ministry and endorsed Tito Cesar and Tita Mameng
Aguilar as Ministry Head in a temporary capacity until such time that a
permanent Ministry Head was appointed. The Incoming Board of Servant
Leaders, headed by Tito Noel and Tita Beny Allarde, approved the
proposal. Tito Naning and
Tita Mila Alinea served as the Shepherd Couple.
Thereafter, the prayer groups designated their respective
representatives as Ministry members.
Among the programs developed by the Ministry were the
Intercessory Prayer Warrior’s Workshop Seminar and the Contemplative
Prayers Seminar.
